There are some great English wines out there, but finding them can be a bit tricky. We're bringing together 8 of the best at this superb tasting.
With much of the South of England having the same soil and climate as Champagne, and some of it even resembling bits of Burgundy, it's hardly surprising that there are some great English wines. Almost 50 of them picked up gongs in 2010's Decanter awards, there were 14 Silver Medal winners at the IWSC and even two Gold Medal winners in the IWC competition.
Quality keeps improving, year on year. Come to our Engish wine tasting and prove to yourself that you don't have to cross The Channel to get a decent glass of wine any more.

You'll taste at least 8 English wines. The lineup so far is:

- Wickham Vineyard, Special Release Fumé 2009 White
- Brightwell Vineyard, Bacchus (TBC)
- Bolney Wine Estate, Foxhole Pinot Noir Red (TBC)
- Sandhurst Estate, 2009 Red
There will be a wine from Denbies, our local vineyard, though we haven't finalised what it is yet. Maybe we'll be able to lay our hands on something interesting?
